Antisemitism at University of Delaware

Jenna Kandeel

Jenna Kandeel, a student at the University of Delaware, committed an appalling act of hate that led to her arrest.

Kandeel was charged with committing a hate crime, criminal mischief, and disorderly conduct after viciously vandalizing a Holocaust memorial organized by a Jewish student group, an incident the Delaware Department of Justice has condemned as an “antisemitic tirade.”

Kandeel’s actions are beyond reprehensible. She desecrated the memorial by spitting on 10 Israeli flags, Witnesses reported that she said, “The Holocaust should have happened.”

This vile statement is not only profoundly offensive but a direct attack on the memory of the six million Jews who perished in the Holocaust and the survivors and their families who continue to live with its legacy.

Her actions are nothing short of a hate-fueled crime, resulting in charges of committing a hate crime, criminal mischief, and disorderly conduct. This brazen display of antisemitism has no place in any community, let alone on a university campus.

The University of Delaware has banned Kandeel from their campus, but this action alone is not enough. This incident demands more than just expulsion — it calls for a loud and unified condemnation from all corners of society.
